RAINFALL MEMORIES

It was raining heavily since the morning.
Arjun tried every possible way to avoid the sound of the raindrops hitting the window panes, roof and doors.
It always reminded him of her.
She loved getting wet in the rain, dancing like a carefree child, giggling, singing and pestering him to join her in the rain dance. He loved watching her from a distance. He never liked rain, but still he wished that it rained everyday, just to see his angel happy and those drizzles made her the happiest.

However, the day she left him, he decided to hate everything that she LOVED.
She broke her promise. she used to say, "I will never leave my baby alone. He is such a kid at heart, hardly knows how to take care of himself. Agar main chali gayi, toh aapka dhyaan kaun rakhega? :* "
She left him, drained him off all his happiness. He expected her to fight for her life, but she gave up. His world turned upside down, he became a lifeless corpse.
It has been 8 years she left this world. He could not marry someone else because he had promised her once "It's either YOU or no one else in my life"

He came back to his senses when the wind blew hard, opening the window.
A heavy gush of wind brought in the rain,    splashing water droplets on his face.
He rushed to close it, but an unseen force stopped him. 
For the first time, he felt like getting drenched.
He stepped out in the balcony, and surrendered himself in the rain with arms wide open.
He could feel her presence in every drop.
Looking up at the sky, he noticed the frequency of the rain drops hitting the ground had increased, as if she too was trying to feel him, to reach him from up there in his arms.
Bringing his arms close to his heart he whispered, "I miss you Riya, I still love you...
